First off, the more seatpost you have in the frame, the stronger the top tube/seat tube/seat stay junction will be. Your post should extend at least 1 inch below the bottom of the top tube to ensure proper protection of the frame. This is pretty much an industry standard, and seatposts inserted less than 1 inch below the bottom of the top tube will not be warrantied. See Picture
